Statement of Practice

The firm consists of lawyers who are duly licensed to practice in Nigeria as Solicitor and Advocate who have over 35 years cumulative experience in law practice in Nigeria.

The firm is engaged in general legal consultancy with a bias for commercial law practice and commercial litigation. We have represented Clients in litigation before all superior courts of record in Nigeria including at the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. We are also proficient in drafting, review, vetting and the interpretation of business documents including contracts and agreements, as well as the perfection of conveyances, leases and other agreements concerning property including but not limited to land.

Overtime, we have acquired experience and developed our knowledge in diverse areas of the law, including but not limited to Commercial Law, Tort, Contract, Labor Law, Intellectual Property law. Energy Law, Petroleum Law, Capital Market (law and Practice), Insolvency (Law & Practice), Energy Law, Arbitration and Conciliation, Banking, Insurance, Consumer Law, Criminal Law, Matrimonial Causes, Tort, Land lease and Tenancy, Immigration Matters, Wills and Probate, Family Law, Intellectual Property, General Legal and Advisory Services. Our competence also extends to advisory and related services on Environmental, Petroleum and Aviation, and development. We have close dealings with some other Law Firms in Nigeria and have worked with other law firms to deliver on projects in Nigeria.

In the last four years, we have undertaken several projects alone and also in conjunction with other law firms to render cutting edge services to suit the needs of the concerned client. We have also worked in conjunction with another law firm Dama Afabor & Co to deliver on some projects in the Nigerian Capital market in which Dama Afabor & Co were the main transaction Counsel. These projects include:

• 2014 Merger of Planet Capital Limited, Emerging Capital Limited, and Strategy & Arbitrage Limited into a single entity Planet Capital Limited.
• 2010 – 2011, Merger of AIICO Insurance Plc, AIICO General Insurance Company Limited, AIICO Asset Management Company Limited into a single entity AIICO Insurance Plc by a Scheme of Arrangement
• 2009, Solicitors to the Offer in N6 Billion Redeemable Infrastructural Development Redeemable Bond 2009/2014 floated by the Niger State Government.
• 2008, legal due diligence audit for the private placement of N3 Billion shares of Equity Life Insurance Company Limited.
• 2008, Solicitors to the initial public offer of Daar Communications Plc.
